Your report,
made understandable.

Understand My Report is being designed to organise medical results into a clear, structured explanation—with responsible boundaries and optional professional review in the future.

Uploads are not active yet. Please do not email medical records.

The planned experience

01

Upload securely

Submit a supported routine laboratory report through a protected account.

02

Structure the findings

Identify test names, values, units, dates and the laboratory’s own reference ranges.

03

Explain the pattern

Translate terminology and show how related results may fit together.

04

Prepare next questions

Receive questions to discuss with the treating clinician and appropriate safety guidance.

Sample

HbA1c

7.8%
Above range
What this means

HbA1c reflects average blood glucose over roughly the previous two to three months. This example is above the usual target range and needs to be understood alongside the person’s history and treatment plan.

Question to ask: What HbA1c target is appropriate for me?

Illustration only—not a diagnosis or personal medical advice.

Starting scope

Routine laboratory reports first.

The safest first version will focus on commonly structured tests such as full blood counts, kidney and liver profiles, lipids, glucose/HbA1c, thyroid tests and iron/B12/folate.

Imaging, pathology, genetics, prescriptions and urgent clinical situations will not be included in the first automated release.

Planned output

More than highlighting numbers in red.

The explanation is intended to organise a report into a useful clinical narrative while clearly separating confirmed facts, common associations and questions that need professional review.

Finding

What is outside the report’s stated range?

Values, units, dates and reference intervals will be extracted and shown clearly.

Meaning

What does each test generally measure?

Medical terminology will be translated without losing the important limitations.

Pattern

How might related findings connect?

The system will consider recognised relationships rather than explaining every number separately.

Questions

What should be discussed next?

Users will receive structured questions to take to the treating healthcare professional.

Safety by design

The AI should explain—not improvise.

The planned system will combine document extraction, reference-range checks, medical rules, AI-generated language and separate safety checks. It will not simply send a PDF to a chatbot and ask for a diagnosis.

  • Unsupported diagnostic claims should be blocked.
  • Missing context should be stated clearly.
  • Potentially urgent findings should trigger appropriate escalation guidance.
  • Complex or unsuitable reports should be routed away from automatic interpretation.
  • Clinician review will remain a distinct, clearly labelled service.

Frequently asked

Before the report service launches

Can I upload a report now?

No. Secure uploads are not active. Please do not email medical records or sensitive health information.

Will the service give a diagnosis?

The automated level is planned as an educational explanation of supplied results, not an independent diagnosis. Any future personalised clinical opinion will be clearly separated and handled by appropriately credentialed clinicians.

What reports will be supported first?

The first release is intended for common structured laboratory tests. Imaging, pathology, genetics and complex records will require separate development and validation.

Will my treating doctor be replaced?

No. The purpose is to improve understanding and help users prepare questions. It does not replace the clinician who knows the person’s history and is responsible for their care.

Will my information be secure?

The feature will not launch until suitable authentication, encrypted transfer and storage, access controls, consent, retention rules and privacy documentation are in place.
